A career as a medical scribe may just be a first step into an ever enriching career path in the healthcare industry. The experience and additional skills of a medical scribe may enable advancement to more significant levels of responsibility and greater compensation. 1. Starting Position as a Medical Scribe

Most of the medical scribes enter work on an entry level basis. Here, you get paid to work closely with doctors and other health providers in writing down things that happen between patients and information regarding medicine. It will expose you to the medical terminologies and EHR systems as well as exposing you to the environment of healthcare.

2. Experienced Medical Scribe

More experience in the medical scribe position provides better performance with tasks. This enhances more knowledge about medical procedures, patient care, and accuracy in documentation. In this position, scribes can be subjected to more complex cases and have more responsibility, such as responsibility for patient data and assisting in some organizational tasks.

3. Senior Medical Scribe or Lead Scribe

After much experience, medical scribes can be promoted to senior ranks. Being a lead or senior scribe would mean overseeing a team of scribes, and orienting as well as ensuring that the work done by other scribes in the department is correctly documented.
